The EU tyre label provides important safety and environmental information about each tyre. It helps you compare tyres for wet grip, fuel efficiency and noise.

Here is a list of rating indicators and their speed equivalents. Unmarked radial tyres are allowed up to a speed of 110 km/h (68 mph). Bias ply tyres are confined to 100 km/h (62 mph). Retreaded tyres can be run up to a maximum speed of 110 km/h (68 mph), unless they are marked otherwise. Special purpose tyres, for specific heavy duty applications must have the respective speed limitations identified on the sidewall. M&S (winter) tyres with a lower speed rating than that of the vehicle may be fitted. In some countries it is mandatory that a sticker be placed in the view of the driver indicating the maximum speed of the tyre. This speed may not be exceeded while these tyres are fitted. This rating system applies to all tyre makers.
