Greater Economy and Shorter Wet Stopping Distances from New Goodyear Regional Haul Tires

07/02/13

Improved Rolling Resistance and Wet Grip from the new 17.5” RHS II+ and RHD II+ with no compromise on other performance criteria.

Goodyear’s new 17.5” Regional steer and drive tires offer better fuel consumption and shorter stopping distances on wet roads than their predecessors (RHS II and RHD II)*. The new tires are called Regional RHS II+ and RHD II+ and, on average, see rolling resistance improved by 12 per cent and wet grip by 16 per cent. This means greater economy and better braking performance with no compromise on mileage, compared with their predecessors. For most operators of vehicles in regional haulage and distribution, mileage is the key economic performance factor with wet grip and fuel efficiency also high priorities. The new tires not only continue their tradition of high mileage performance but also provide improvements in other key areas including tread robustness.

The new tires have been approved by major manufacturers including DAF and Mercedes-Benz for fitment on their trucks.

Goodyear Regional RHS II + and RHD II + are regroovable and retreadable. They are both available in sizes 205/75R17.5, 215/75R17.5 and 245/70R17.5.

*Based on internal assessment at the Goodyear Innovation Center Luxembourg 2012 in comparison with RHS II and RHD II tires.
